- Monitoring of clinical and other parameters in consultation with the physician
- Contributing to a careful and consistent healthcare organization
my vision
For me, Professor Dr. Carlos Van Mieghem, Lifestyle Medicine represents a necessary evolution in medicine. I consciously choose a proactive approach to healthcare. While conventional medicine often operates reactively, Lifestyle Medicine moves upstream in the disease process and implements early corrections to prevent chronic conditions. Metabolic disorders, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and neurodegenerative diseases account for the majority of mortality in the Western world. These are largely modifiable. That's where my focus lies.
I am a cardiologist by training and have been an active promoter of Lifestyle Medicine in Belgium and abroad since 2020. Since 2024, I have been a member of the General Assembly of the World Lifestyle Medicine Organization. I am also a visiting professor at the Faculty of Medicine of KU Leuven and involved in the Masters in Lifestyle Medicine program at the University of Thessaly. Alongside my academic activities, I remain clinically active within my own Lifestyle Medicine practice.
